Thank you so much for your generous donation to Miranda's Rescue. Your donation is greatly appreciated because we are always working hard to make our rescue more comfortable for the animals, and every improvement takes money and volunteer labor. Our success depends on the generosity of people like you and all of our great volunteers. Your donation will also be used for food, medicine, vaccinations, veterinarian expenses, and/or other necessities for the animals. FUNDRAISER DONATIONS:

If you prefer to make a donation of merchandise to our fundraising events or to support the rescue facility directly please contact us or call (707) 616-5743.

Other Ways You Can Help

Stretch and Scratch Pads for kitty cages (contact chris@mirandasrescue.org for shipping address)

Make a cash donation Cash is always needed and welcomed. Your donation helps to pay for veterinary care for the animals, including spay and neuter, surgery for wounded or abused animals and vaccines. Money is also needed for construction of kennels and other facilities and for everyday expenses such as utilities. Donations are tax deductible and can be charged to a Visa or Mastercard. (For a printable donation form, click here.) You can also make a donation in the name of another person as a gift or a memorium.

Make a pet food donation If you have ever had a large breed dog (or maybe even if you haven't), you can probably imagine how much forty hungry dogs can eat in a day. The Rescue goes through large amounts of dog and cat food and can always use more. We have regular pet food drives on the first Saturday of every month: food can be dropped off from 11am to 3pm at Short St., between 15th and Wabash (near Costco). Pet food can also be dropped off at the shelter any time that it is open.

Make a recycling donation  When you take your recyclables to your local recycling center please tell them you would like your recycling donation mailed to Miranda's Rescue.

Make a labor donation Scooping debris and walking dogs aren't the only chores that need to be done at the shelter. Miranda's Rescue needs volunteers with specialized skills. If you have experience in construction, plumbing, electrical, or if you are just especially handy, we can probably use your talents. Please call and let us know if you would like to volunteer your services.

Make a bequest More than three-quarters of Americans make donations to non-profit organizations during their lifetimes, but fewer than eight percent think to leave a gift in their will or estate plan. If you would like to leave a future donation to the Rescue, you can bequeath a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your assets in your will. You can also name Miranda's Rescue as a beneficiary of your pension plan, IRA, or life insurance policy.

Make a donation to our thrift shop Next time that you are cleaning out your garage or closets, remember that items that are gathering dust in your home can be put to good use by somebody else and raise money for the Rescue. New or lightly used items can be donated to the Miranda's Rescue Thrift Shop in Fortuna. Put a dent in our wish list. It takes many things to keep the shelter running. Besides the things listed above, here are some items that would be especially appreciated.
