Our New Feline Hospital

The installation of the new feline hospital has been delayed due to weather, but by the time you read this, we hope that the isolation unit will be ready to serve animals in need of a little TLC. It’s very important to separate sick kitties from the healthy population. This will be possible with an 8 x 16 Junior Barn, purchased with funds donated primarily by Fortuna Sunrise Rotary Club.

The hospital will have hot and cold running water and electricity. It will be light and bright with three new windows—generously donated by Pierson Building Center. It will have about 12 cages for sick or injured animals and be stocked with medications, vaccines, and supplies for nursing those in need back to health. It will be used for sick cats and an occasional dog in need of special attention.

Timing will be good, as we will soon be in kitten season. In the past we have had difficulty keeping young kittens from getting ill, but with help from Fortuna Sunrise Rotary Club and Pierson Building Center, we hope to be able to keep the kitties healthy and adoptable.

A big “Thank You” is also due to JP for digging trenches, pouring foundations, and general handyman work.
